Health minister begs husband to stop vaping during live interview

A health minister has pleaded with her husband live on air to “stop vaping” amid concerns about the potential long-term health impact of the habit.

Maria Caulfield said that her husband, Steve, had taken up vaping to stop him smoking. She said that while vaping was cheaper, she would like him to stop. Asked to “look down the lens and tell him”, she issued a direct appeal to her husband on Sky News to “stop vaping”.

Little is known about the long-term effects of e-cigarettes, and debates over their harm have so far mainly focused on concerns about nicotine addiction among the young.
